Something different... ANIME!

I am a huge action-anime fan. I love the look and the details the characters have, I love the fighting animations because they're really intense and well done. Here's an image I did recently.. It's just some evil kinda guy I thought up.. I was kinda inspired by this as well as this. <- that image is really what made me decide to draw this. I thought "that's really cool but it would look so much more awesome if it was detailed like Dragonball z style". After I finished everything I thought the colors werent so great so I added a gradient map to the drawing and the colors changed to what's above. I think it looks much nicer and also alot like the colors in first link I posted. Special thanks to Elliot Byrne for his advice.

I'm working on my anatomy and shading...i'd bet 80% of the shading in the drawing is wrong :p

I am posting this drawing because I need to know what I should do differently for my next drawing. As far as color and shading and anatomy go. All help is appreciated!

What do you guys think of this as a shirt design? Its still in the pencil phase, but I want to enter it in the thread-less $5000 contest. Anyone think I got a chance? any suggestions? And no, thats just a normal abominable snowman. I decided to make it in the same style Pen Ward does cause his work is awesome! Well, what do you think?

ANIMATIC IS DONE...ALMOST

About 5 minutes ago I finished my animatic. I still have to watch it and make notes, then fix the animatic so that the story line flows better, and so that characters dont say things too early. All these things will help when I'm animating. Above is an image from the animatic in my quicktime player. You can see ace is... well, he's naked. Find out why soon enough! More updates coming soon!

Hello all!

I just finished my final boards for Ace & Aqua, a total of 104 scenes. The schedule I worked up was way to fast for me so I have to rethink it and re-write it. Gotta make an animatic for it and then cut it and go from there. Im glad the boards are finally done because I cant take doing boards. Its my least favorite part of animating. Well, any way there should be an update of Ace & Aqua soon so stay tuned!!

Hey everyone! Been trying to cram those final storyboards. I created a schedule to help me with finishing the short. Without schedules, nothing would get done. I have till the 18th to have the final boards done. The estimated date for having Ace & Aqua completely finished is november 26th. Wont be able to show anything until december. Also, this short is going to be submitted into the TGSNT contest! Above is an image I took of me working on one of the boards. Keep watching the blog for updates!

BABY GOT BACK!

Hey Everyone!

Long time no talk. How have you been? Lately i've been very busy. I just wanted to keep you updated with what's going on with Ace & Aqua! Lately i've been working on character turnarounds. I have Ace with and without his eskimo suit on, I have aqua's new design done, and I have 2 characters named Beck and April done. I just have to make the turn around for a squirrel and a delivery man. I really love the designs I have, but Im sure when I bring it into flash and clean it up, the turn around's will look much much better. What's that image above? Be on the look out for aqua's design.. I'll be showing piece by piece, and that piece is his BUTT! Its BUTT-IFUL! Well what have I been doing lately besides character turnarounds? I've been cutting the audio from the voice recording. Trust me, you never want to cut audio. I cut around 1050 different audio tracks because I've had anywhere from 3 takes for a line, to 25 takes for a line. I obviously had to choose my favorite out of the takes, so there really isn't 1050 lines of audio. I also have finished the rough storyboard of the short. It looks very rough, and the characters are pretty much off model the entire time.. thats why Its a rough. I printed out a storyboard with 2 boxes per page and am going to make this the final board so that I can start working on the animatic. I cant post up the rough storyboard just yet, but hey, you get a nice butt to look at! Well guys, there will be more posts soon on Ace & Aqua! Stay tuned! Oh yea, and I have backgrounds being worked on.

Here's a picture Craig McCracken drew for me when I went to the Cartoon Network studios. I went to see a recording of Grim adventures of billy and mandy because I am friends with the guy who does the voice of grim I got to see a recording. After the recording Greg Eagles ( voice of grim ) took me up to meet animators and artists. I met some cool people, and then I met Craig McCracken - the coolest of all people. He was the nicest guy! I talked to him about fosters and then he brought me to this cubical where a girl was working on a scene from fosters. It was so awsome seeing their flash files and comparing them to how I animate in flash. I was watching this girl work for about 10 minutes and craig was nice enough to take time from his busy schedule to stay there as this woman showed me their stuff. Then we went back to craig's office where I asked him if it would be okay to draw me a picture of Bloo and Cheese. Craig seemed happy to draw it! Very cool seeing the creator drawing the cartoon I see on TV! I then told him to sign it to my brother Jared who is also a fan, but would go really crazy over a drawing of his 2 favorite characters. Craig was really cool and then I told him about you guessed it! Ace & Aqua!! He told me he accepts pitches and that I can mail him the episode and pitch info when its done. He said he cant wait to see it and Im really excited!

Later at the Comic Con I met the voice of Bloo and Cheese and Mac and lots of other voices. Even the voice of spongebob, I mean eduardo. When I was talking to Keith ( bloo ) I told him my brother would go crazy if you called him and talked to him in the voice of bloo... Well, he called him and talked to him in the voice of bloo! It was the coolest thing ever! I got him to sign the drawing as well as Candi Milo who does cheese. The voice actors and Craig and Lauren and everyone was just really great!

The monday after the Comic con I got to see a pick up of FOSTERS! It was really cool. Even tho only the voice of Mac was there, it was nice meeting him and talking with him, and seeing him perform. Oh, and I also got to keep 2 scripts from the show :)

Like I was saying before, I went to see the grim adventures of billy and mandy recorded and got these 2 model packets later. It was also really cool and the voice of grim was nice enough to record for me and do the voice of Aqua!!!
The recording was really cool and I later got these 2 character construction packets ( shown below )

Well that was my time in California... Oh yea, I also went to the nickelodeon animation studio and Frederator studios, Renegade studios and six point harness... I also worked and got paid which was awsome and recorded my own show! Ahh I wonder what I could accomplish if I actually lived in CA.

Cartoon Network. Yes!

Here's just alittle image I did for fun.
This Fred Fredburger character was built in flash with many different hands and arms. I also created every eye position possible, and I created a full mouth chart. Yes, very exclusive type of .fla. Too bad the flash animation of this guy on TV doesnt have that thick outline around it. Yes thats correct, it IS possible to add thick outlines around your characters :-P. How does he do it? Magicians never reveal their tricks!

Ace & Aqua Being Recorded!!

Hey Everyone,

Long time no talk, how you been? Today at 11:30 California time, Ace & Aqua ( the 6 min episode ) was recorded. I set up a date to record in a professional studio so the quality for the audio is 100% good! I got the voices for all my characters and I love them! They are just as I imagined my characters to sound like. So yea, big recording went on today and I'm real glad about how they came out! I recorded a promo also so a promo should be out in acouple of months!

Hey Everyone!

How have you been? I am happy to say that I am working on the script for the Ace & Aqua web-series, to be pitched to Nickelodeon :D. I am looking for voice talent right now, but don't currently have pay. They'll get paid once / If it gets picked up by a network. New character designs for other characters in this show are being worked on, as well as props, key positions, etc.. . Anyways, here is the "kick-ass" poster I was talking about. Im not conceded, I just love these 2 characters of mine and think this is a really great work of art that I made. I had help from Manny Galan and it paid off! Let me know what you guys think of this, and stay tuned to the flash animated web-series/show!

ACE & AQUA! TEASER!

Hello Everybody!

Its been acouple days since my last post, and I thought In the special occasion, Id post this. I have been working on these 2 characters of mine, Ace and Aqua. Many may know these characters from me sending jpegs or showing them a .mov of Aqua ( in the poster ) doing alittle back flip! Id like to thank Brian Growe for his help in working on it.. no ones seen the re-worked one yet tho. Anyways, I recently made a kick ass poster of Ace and Aqua. Thanks goes out to Manny Galan who helped me with proportions and such! Its not the one posted, but I just ordered myself a 23'' x 34'' poster of the kick-ass one...or at least I think its kick ass! I'll post it up much later tho.

Now to get back on track. I am going to be making a 1-2 minute episode of Ace and Aqua. Yes, im gonna finally do it. I have turn arounds which have been made MONTHS and MONTHS ago. I also have all the flash symbols set up, as well as acouple positions, and front and side mouths for animating. Yes, this is going to be flash animated. Im hoping that mabye Aaron Simpson can make a post about my animation. Im going to be animating this as well as I can, and hopefully this comes out good. I'm not gonna ive out much about this show except that they live in alaska and aqua ( in the poster ) is an abominable snowman! ;).. opps I already said too much! I dont really have any musical talent.. well not that could work for a cartoon show, so if anyone is a musical, just drop me a line and some samples. I dont really have money to spend on this, its a personal not studio project... even tho im the only one im my studio.. lol. Anyways drop me a line if you know any music makers that could hook me up! Emails on the website. If I post it here im gonna get lots of spam which isnt good.

Anyways, look forward to my new animated webseries! Production date soon to be created!

Here are all the characters for my promo colored. I dropped the girl because she ended up too short and with color she didnt turn out well. Anyways, here are all the colored people. I purposely had each person a different shade color. I didnt want them to look completely human, so I added a special little touch ;) Well, enjoy. COLOR GIVES BABY LIFE!... sorta

Hey Everyone!! I have completed colors for 3 characters so far. I just did some work for a channel frederator ad I made up. It came out good, I hope people like it. Anyways, here's the baby and he's colored. It kinda gives him life with color, but kinda makes him look like a zombie. I was kinda going for that inbetween, and Im very satisfied how he came out, as well as how the other 2 chatacters came out. Stay tuned, I was thinking about making more than just a promo for these characters.. we'll see!

Copi Animation

Hey everyone! I figured I show an animation I did the past summer. The animation is about 16mb so wait for it to load, and itsabout 1min and 16 seconds long. The name of the main character is called Copi. Hes the black one who takes the drink. You'll see what I mean when you watch it. Now remmember, I didnt know much about animation at the time, and I had flash for only about 2 months (ive only been animating for 2 months when this was made), but I tried to manage. This is mostly frame by frame animation. It took me 3 days to animate, and 2 days to go back and fill in all the colors. It was tiring! Tell me what you guys think of it! Comments are more than welcome!

Promo Characters...Mother

Happy friday Everyone! Im so glad, i need to take a break from school! TGIF!!! Anyways, Im still working on my animatic and its look soo good so far! I'll post a clip as soon as I get that storyboard I posted in the previous post animated--errrr-- animatic-ed. If thats even a word. This is a drawing of the mother who her and the rest of the characters except jake have very little role except for being in the scene. I dont have her arm because I drew it seperately perfectly, and dont want to ruin the drawing. Well I hope you guys like this character! More to come so stay tuned!

Promo Animation...in progress

Hey Everyone!! This is my first official drawing post, and I am very proud!! The image on the side, is a kid named Jake. He has a "gothic" style look to him, which is exactly how hes suppost to look for my promo. My promo is going to be about 30 seconds long, and its going to include music from Darkman Woe. Im not sure how to upload music, but If I knew id post a clip of the music im going to use. Lets just say for now its very "orchestral" music which is perfect! If you take a look at Ghostbots great Promo here, you will notice the music. This is the type of music ( not the exact song ) for my promo. I'm sort of going for the same "gothic" style as the all famous Scarygirl. The style is going to be flash animated, and for the promo, there will be no outlines around the character.

Here is a storyboard page from my promo. Im currently working on the animatic, and will post that up when its done. What is this about? Basically the promo takes place at a funeral. I know, its sad and strange place to do an animation (because animations are usually funny like cartoons, and cartoons dont usually take place at funerals. When was the last time you saw The Fairly Odd Parents take place at a funeral? See my point?) Its strange to have an animation of people sad at a funeral, but its not all sad. It has a twist in the middle end of it which I think is great! When the promo is posted you will see what I mean. Everyother day or so I'll post new characters from the promo, so look out for that!
